Special Education

Creswell’s Special Education department works with families to meet the specialized educational needs of students with disabilities.  Accommodations, supports, and modifications to regular instructional are geared toward helping each individual student reach their educational goals in a way that meets them where they are.

Creswell School District complies with the federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Oregon state law in the evaluation, placement and services to students who qualify as a student with a disability. For eligible children K-12, CSD offers educational programs and services targeted to each child’s age and disability.  Lane County ESD offers services for children from birth through kindergarten.

Procedural Safeguards Notice

The Procedural Safeguards Notice, Parent Rights for Special Education, is available from CSD or the Oregon Department of Education

The reauthorized Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA 2004) requires each school district to report annually on progress of their students eligible for special education. The Creswell School District Special Education Report displays district-level data and approved Oregon state targets.

Child Find

Public Law 105.17 known as the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) requires that school districts provide a free and appropriate education to all disabled children and young adults from birth through 21 years of age. Creswell School District seeks the community’s assistance  identifying any disabled children ages 0 through 21 who are not enrolled or currently being served through one of the district’s schools. If you know of any disabled children who are not receiving education services, please call CSD’s Student Services Department at 541-895-6005.
