The Creswell School District Board of Directors is excited to announce that Amy Aguero has been selected as the next Superintendent of Creswell School District. Ms. Aguero will officially begin serving in this role on July 1. Read the official announcement from the Creswell School Board
Amy Aguero is a lifelong Oregonian, born and raised in Southern Oregon, who has dedicated her career to serving students and communities across Lane County. A graduate of the University of Oregon, Amy began her career as a second-grade teacher in Sweet Home School District and has since served students at every level—elementary, middle, high, and special education—building a deep and comprehensive understanding of educating students K-12.
Amy brings both classroom credibility and school leadership to her work at the district level. She joined Creswell School District in 2019 as Director of Student Services. In Creswell, she has led critical districtwide work including multi-tiered supports, curriculum adoption, and student services—ensuring that structures are aligned to meet the needs of each and every student. Known for her steady and relational leadership, Amy listens deeply and believes that strong schools are built through authentic partnerships with staff, students, and the community. She has played a key role in cross-agency collaboration and community-based supports, ensuring that students and families are connected to the resources they need to thrive.
Amy is also a respected leader in the region, contributing to Lane Education Service District initiatives including the Teacher Mentor Grant, McKinney-Vento grant, and educator pathway development. Her work reflects a deep commitment to both growing educators and expanding opportunities for students across the region.
At her core, Amy is a student-centered leader who believes the most important work happens in classrooms. She is at her best when working alongside educators—building relationships, supporting instruction, and fostering a culture where collaboration drives continuous improvement for students. On her hardest days, you will find her taking a quick walk around a school so she can see teachers teaching and students learning. She is committed to ensuring every student is known, supported, and provided the opportunities they need to succeed
