Home » School Bond Update: Bond Measure Passing

Dear CSD staff, families and community members,

It appears that Creswell voters have approved a school bond on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, that will fund repairs and upgrades to the district’s three schools. At the first posting of the voting last night at 8:00 P.M., 70% (1107) of the ballots returned (1587) for Creswell were “Yes” in favor of the bond, and 30% (480) were “No” in opposition. As of 11:00 A.M. today, the ballot returns increased to 1937 and the “Yes” votes have also increased slightly to 70.31%. The voting results demonstrate that the Creswell community puts kids’ needs first and that they have a lot of love and pride in our schools.

I am genuinely humbled by the generosity of the community and the level of trust that they have demonstrated in the District leadership with passing this bond. The bond is a significant investment in the future of our children and we are excited about the impact that it will have on their education. Additionally, this bond will have a positive effect on the Creswell community and our local economy.

I would like to thank the Board for their full support of the bond proposal, and the many dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers that participated in the bond campaign for their hard work and determination to make it successful. They can take comfort in knowing that their efforts will make a positive difference in the lives of so many Creswell kids.

Planning for the bond projects will begin immediately, and work is scheduled to begin this summer. A citizen Bond Oversight Committee will be appointed by the Board to monitor the progress, schedule and costs of the bond work and regularly report out to the community.

Again, thank you to the Creswell community for your love and support for our kids and schools and to the many volunteers for hours and hours of work on the bond campaign.

Sincerely,

Mike Johnson, Superintendent
