To Whom It May Concern,
The Creswell Scholarship Committee is seeking community assistance to provide scholarship funds for worthy graduating seniors. Our scholarship committee would not be possible without the generous and loyal support of local business and individuals.
Funds received will be accumulated in the school district’s Scholarship Fund and be awarded to members of the senior class at our annual Awards Night, in May. Any donation amount is appreciated. The scholarships will be given to students who attend either a college or a vocational school. The money will be dispersed to the student or attending institution for use at the schools the following school year. There are two ways you can choose to donate:
- Donate to the general scholarship fund (monies will be distributed to students based on committee selection) simply by mailing your donation with no additional paperwork.
- You may choose to create a scholarship of your choice with a minimum $200 donation, and indicate specific criteria for students’ selection should you wish your money be directed to a certain type of students or program of study. An additional benefit in this option is that CHS alum Joshua Turnbull will match any new scholarship of $200 or more with an additional $100. If you would like to pursue this option, simply fill out the attached scholarship donation form and submit with your donation.
Students will be working on their applications for the CHS scholarships over the next month; our Committee will review those applications and make selections in mid-April. If you would be interested in helping with this effort, or have questions about scholarship criteria, please contact Angela Dennis 541-895-6038, adennis@creswell.k12.or.us.
If you can make a donation, please return your check payable to “Creswell Scholarship Fund” to the attention of Barbara Sears at CHS by April 15th. Credit card payments can also be made through PaySchools on the district’s website, www.creswell.k12.or.us, using the Scholarship Donation category located under CHS. All scholarship donations are tax-deductible. You will receive a receipt for tax purposes, recognition at Awards Night, and a student letter of appreciation. You will also be invited to attend the awards night presentation as a special guest. A donation form is located on our CHS website as well under the College and Career tab at the top of the website. Thank you, on behalf of CHS and the members of our senior class, for your consideration of this request and for your investment in the future of these students.
Sincerely,
Adam Watkins
