Parents,

Next week, March 2-6th is a big week at Creslane. It is classified appreciation week AND Read Across America Week.

To celebrate Read Across America Week we have several fun activities planned.

  • Every morning, a “Mystery Reader” will read a page or two from a selected Dr. Seuss book over the intercom. Each class will try and figure out the name of the reader and the name of the book!
  • On Monday the entire school will participate in D.E.A.R. (Drop Everything and Read) from 9:45-10am. If you are on campus count on digging into a book with students and staff!
  • Each day is themed! Attached is a flyer that outlines the theme for each day as well as the dress up options. These are optional for all, but a fun way to celebrate the love of literature!
  • All week students can participate in a bookmark design competition. Students can pick up a template from their teacher along with the rules. A winner from every class will be selected. Those 24 winning bookmarks will be printed and available for students to pick up in the library.

If your child would like to pay special recognition to our wonderful support staff here at Creslane they are welcome to do so for Classified Appreciation Week. We have many dedicated adults who teach academic groups, supervise activities across campus, run our office and clean our buildings. This school wouldn’t be able to function without these individuals who are always willing to jump in to help get the job done. Next week is set aside to recognize their role in the lives of the students and teaching staff.

Friday March 6th is an early release. Students will be dismissed at 11:30.

Thank you,

Amy Halley
