Creswell Education Foundation Vange Bigham Memorial Poetry Scholarship

Seniors, here is your opportunity to tell a personal narrative of one of your real adventures in poetry. Vange Bigham knew the power of poetry and she loved adventure.

Create one original piece of narrative poetry, based on a personal adventure the participant has experienced. Choose a poetry style appropriate in length and style to express yourself clearly for this scholarship entry. Use your words wisely and write in lines and stanzas. Choose a poem pattern or free verse for your piece, but make sure the poem is complete. A scholarship awaits the ones who best compete.

Please make sure to title all pieces, and if you have chosen a poetry style explain the style and how it best represents your adventure in your poem.

All entries must be original work, true narratives, and experienced by the author.

Poems will be judged by a writing group Vange Bigham was a member of. Your work may be posted and you may be asked to read your poem at awards night.

Deadline for entries is April 23, 2021 at 4pm. Create your Poem in you Google Account and share with Mrs. Dennis (adennis@creswell.k12.or.us)
